HISTORY

The United Diwata Family (UDF) was first unintentionally founded by a group of strangers under the direction of no one. Within the ancient setting of Intramuros, a small group was created amid socially intriguing clans and dramatic events. These free-dwellers declared themselves impartial in clan disputes and started referring to themselves as FREELANCER.

One frequent rule that freelancers would establish is "Free Entrance & Free Exit," which stipulates that group members are able to join and depart at any time. while then, all of a sudden, everything changed in 2015. Some of them settled down, others launched their own little business, while others had to find work and better to their chosen carreers.

Aldrew Sy, also known as "Diwata," unpredictably led the way in terms of creativity for the group. With the early notion and practice of the FREELANCERS, the organization would rename itself "Diwata and Friends," a name that sprang from both Aldrew and his colleagues' wild ideas. The second generation of the group, known as Diwata and Friends, was based in Intramuros and had the straightforward mission of "bringing color to the Intramuros wall and sharing boundless happiness to all new diwatas." With weekly meetings, unending bonding, bliss, and the hope of meeting new people, the second generation defined growth, beauty, and unity, which subsequently led on to its third generation.

As time went on, Diwata and Friends changed its name to United Diwata Familia (UDF). Since millennials were the majority, the organization had to grow, so members from outside Intramuros joined. The idea of FREELANCERS was combined with Diwata and Friends, and even members from distant provinces or areas were drawn to the so-called Diwatas with the motto "Spread Love & Be Diwata Forever" because they shared responsibility, love, and care for those around them. Originally a barkadahan, UDF evolved into a youth-serving organization and is currently led respectfully by a diverse group of officers.
